I turned on the fan in hopes of blowing the stench out, the fan sounded like a small 747 flying around your room all night. I assume it was just being piped directly into all the rooms in hopes people would get stoned and forget about the dump they were staying in. Couldn't for the life of me figure out where it was coming from. Of course part of the lack of sleep was due to the over powering smell of marijuana/pot/weed that came wafting into the room around 3am. I would have rather slept on the floor as that was at least flat, although I didn't trust the carpet. The beds are the single worst beds I've ever slept on. They still looked old to me only with new headboards on the beds and new chest of draws. If these rooms have been renovated, I can't imagine what they were like before. Still I was a little anxious leaving my car parked behind the Hotel/Motel/Apartment building. Luckily knowing Hollywood as well as I do, I knew this area was relatively safe. It took us to a small dark parking lot behind the hotel. The gentlemen at the front desk directed us to a parking lot, up the street and down a dark alley that looked like a dead-end. We came back to the hotel late after a club, only to find the parking lot was full. If you drive an SUV or a large car you'll have a great time trying to squeeze into the tiny parking spots. There are 5 spots in front of the hotel and additional parking underground. I've given it 2 stars simply because the gentlemen working the graveyard shift was helpful finding us parking. After staying 1 night at this Hotel/Motel/Apartment building, there is no possible way to rate this place higher than 3 stars, and that's assuming you've spent some time in hotels in Nigeria or Somalia. I just took a few minutes to read the other reviews listed (the ones that gave the place 4 or 5 stars) and have come to the conclusion they have must have been written by the staff. Incidentally the Asian restaurant up the hill behind the hotel was excellent and well worth a booking. I would not recommend it to anyone else unless you could request a referbished room. Next day we were told we would have to move so we were given room 201 which was next door to the original room but oh what a difference. However on day 3 we were given another room which was lovely, although this was for 1 night only but we took it anyhow. The lady on the desk was not very helpful and appeared not to care. We immediately complained and asked to be moved but as the hotel was allegedly full they could do nothing about it although we could try again next day. The walls were marked, the walk way through the wardrobes to the bathroom was well!!!! The plug sockets were loose so I dared not plug anything in. However we were given room 203 which faced the road. We had travelled from San Francisco over the past 10 days and were really looking forward to unpacking and relaxing for a few days before moving on again.
